At RE-fest you'll learn how you can take action to conserve the Earth's limited resources and make positive changes in your community. We encourage you to participate in and enjoy a variety of activities:

Exhibitors will be on-site displaying and selling their eco-friendly products and services.

Workshops will run throughout the day. You can learn more about recycling, renewable energy for your home or business, saving money through simple energy conservation efforts, and more.

Solar Stage - The solar stage will be a hub of activity throughout the day including storytelling and a closing concert featuring local bands sure to please all. The stage is powered by the sun, thanks to the Midwest Renewable Energy Society's (MRES) Solar Power Trailer.

Local Food -Enjoy food sold by vendors offering delicious locally-grown or -produced food that will appeal to all ages. Be sure to bring your appetite!

Artisans - Local Artisans and cottage industries will be selling hand-crafted products.

Children's Activities - Leave the game system at home! The kids will learn about the environment while having fun making Solar S'Mores and model Wind Turbines.

Teens Go Green - Teens will enjoy the opportunity to write their own Green Pledge on the pledge board.

Raptor Show - The audience will get the opportunity to see three live birds of prey up-close: a falcon, an owl, and a hawk. Learn about their qualities and adaptations and how humans affect their lives.

Storytelling - Award-winning Naturalist Storyteller Kevin Strauss will tell you animal, planet, and ecology stories that make you laugh, make you sigh, and make you think. Hear how Bear lost his tail, why birds have different colors, and why the sky is up so high.

RE-fashon Show - An average american throws away 68 pounds of clothing and textiles every year. Local second-hand shops buy and sell a large variety of gently-used fashionable clothing that makes it easy to keep your share out of the landfills. The fashion show will parade current fashion trends - all available at second-hand clothing stores!

Eco-Friendly Auto Show- Stop and see the latest eco-friendly vehicles. From Hybrids to electric vehicles, these products provide fuel efficient transportation and an alternative way to reduce your carbon footprint.

Earth Adventures - Enter the Earth Balloon and learn about our planet or walk the U.S. from coast to coast on a Earth Walk adventure of discovery like no other.

We encourage people to walk, bike or take public transit to RE-fest. Anyone who drives will have the opportunity to purchase carbon offsets. Proceeds will be used for tree planting and prairie restoration to help make this a carbon-free event.
